kW to Ton Conversion for Chiller Sizing: Quick Reference
One ton of refrigeration equals about 3.517 kW of cooling, so a 350 kW load is roughly 100 TR. Getting this conversion right is the first step in specifying a chiller, along with chilled water flow and pipe size. Useful for engineers and procurement teams comparing rental chiller capacities.
