The South Korean market for compound fertilizers is slowly increasing as a result of the country\'s need to maintain high farm yields based on limited cultivable land. Compound fertilizers are carefully formulated mixes of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium designed to meet crop-specific nutritional needs. South Korea\'s farm policy is centered upon food production self-sufficiency and soil fertility, especially for the crops rice, vegetables, fruit trees, and tobacco. Government-sponsored subsidies and agri-innovation initiatives have popularized compound fertilizers among commercial farms as well as specialty crop producers. Controlled-release and green blends are being utilized increasingly as agriculture becomes increasingly sustainable.
